King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will tour the U.S. in summer 2025 accompanied each night by a different 28-piece orchestra. The Australian psych-rock pychos’ only U.S. tour of 2025 will culminate with a three-day, festival-style camping event in Buena Vista, CO dubbed Field of Vision.
The 2025 tour is comparatively light by King Gizzard standards, with just 11 concerts in three weeks. Seven of those 11 shows will feature a local orchestra, while the band’s second night at Forest Hills Stadium and all three nights of Field of Vision will be good, old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll shows. King Gizzard’s tour will kick off on July 28th at the TD Pavilion at the Mann in Philadelphia and run through Field of Vision (8/15–8/17). Along the way, the band will make stops in New Haven, CT (7/30), Forest Hills, NY (8/1 orchestral show, 8/2 rock ‘n’ roll show), Columbia, MD (8/4), Highland Park, IL (8/6), Colorado Springs (8/8), and San Diego (8/11).
Tickets for King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s 2025 tour, including the Field of Vision festival, will go on sale Friday, November 1st at 11 a.m. ET here except for Highland Park which will go on sale in March. Though King Gizzard performed multiple-night runs across the county on the 2023 Residency Tour, some of which included camping, Field of Vision will mark the group’s first multi-night curated festival in the U.S. In the latter half of the 2010s, King Gizzard regularly hosted the annual Gizzfest which toured Australia with local international artists. The band was set to host a New Year’s Eve festival dubbed Timeland in Australia in 2021, but canceled as COVID cases spiked around the globe. Of note, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s festival will take place at the same location as the Billy Strings-curated Renewal festival.
To accompany the tour announcement, King Gizzard shared a new single, “Phantom Island”, featuring an orchestra. The song was originally recorded for the band’s latest album and 26th overall, Flight b741, which was released back in August. King Gizzard confirmed that a full orchestral album is currently in the works.
“So our last album was 10 songs. Except we recorded 20 in that session,” singer-guitarist Stu Mackenzie explained in a statement. “Here’s a track from the other set of 10. It’s even more maxxed out than the last one. There’s a whole fuckin’ orchestra on there. Hahahahahah! But for real, what a joy to be alive. A privilege to be making music for a living and to be here still after all these years. If you’ve been listening to Gizz for a long time, thank you. We love you so much. If you’re just tuning in, welcome to the cult.”
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are currently out on their largest headlining tour to date, set to resume on Friday with a three-hour marathon set at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. Find tickets and a full list of dates here.
