Dead & Company’s John Mayer Talks Woodstock 50

The status of Woodstock 50 is still unclear as organizers exchange legal briefs with investors Dentsu. Dead & Company are supposed to be one of the headliners of the festival, which was announced to take place at Watkins Glen International racetrack in Watkins Glen, New York August 16 – 18. Guitarist John Mayer discussed the event with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy channel.

“I know that I was on the bill being in Dead & Company but I’m as much a spectator as anyone else is to this wildness,” Mayer told Cohen. “I was told sort of like ‘yeah, it’s not happening,’ but then every time I hear someone say … well, there’s only one person still saying ‘no, it’s still going’ … it reminds me of the scene in Monty Python where the knight is now missing the arm and the leg and he’s hopping up and down he’s saying ‘it’s just a flesh wound,” the guitarist added.

“If those guys end up going, I will go,” Mayer said in reference to Dead & Company. Watch the part of John’s interview with Andy about Woodstock 50:
