On Tuesday, Colorado’s own seven-piece funk outfit The Motet announced an extensive coast-to-coast 2019 fall tour dubbed the Speed Of Light Tour. The newly announced tour with span from August 10th through the end of the year.
The Motet—currently comprised of Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garret Sayers (bass), Ryan Jalbert (guitar), Lyle Divinsky (vocals), Drew Sayers (sax), and Parris Flemming (trumpet)—continues to tour in support of their latest LP, Death or Devotion, marking an important high point for the band as their first album to feature the full, current lineup throughout the writing and recording process.
Following The Motet’s tour-opening performance at Aspen, CO’s Belly Up on August 10th, the band will hit select stops including New Orleans, LA’s Tipitina’s (9/5); Asheville, NC’s Salvage Station (9/27); Las Vegas, NV’s Brooklyn Bowl (10/3); Morgantown, WV’s 123 Pleasant St (10/17); Portland, ME’s State Theatre (11/9); Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl (11/22 & 11/23); Minneapolis, MN’s First Avenue (12/6); Chicago, IL’s Vic Theatre (12/14); and Seattle, WA’s Neptune Theatre on December 31st, to name a few.
Tickets for The Motet’s newly announced dates go on sale this Friday, June 28th.
