Saturday Night Live announced David Byrne will serve as the musical guest on February 29. John Mulaney will host the episode which marks Byrne’s first appearance on the sketch comedy show since 1989.
In 1979, David Byrne made his SNL debut, when he led Talking Heads through “Take Me To The River” and “Artists Only” during the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame band’s only appearance on the show. Byrne returned on November 18, 1989 for performances of “Dirty Old Town” and “Loco de Amor” from his debut solo album, Rei Momo. On February 16, David Byrne’s American Utopia wraps up a run on Broadway.
