Phish bassist Mike Gordon and drummer Jon Fishman will perform with The Mallett Brothers Band on Tuesday, March 3 at a rally for presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont. The Super Tuesday event will be held at Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, Vermont.
Fishman has previously shown support for Sanders, including wearing an altered version of his iconic dress with Bernie imagery. Fishman, who has served as a selectman in Lincolnville, Maine since 2017, is the Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign state co-chair for Maine. The drummer has also performed with The Mallett Brothers Band on several occasions.
Sanders was mayor of Burlington, Vermont when Phish formed there in 1983. Fishman spoke at a rally for Sanders in 2016, crediting the then-presidential hopeful for helping Phish achieve early success in their hometown.
Doors to Tuesday’s rally at Champlain Valley Exposition open at 5:30 p.m. The event is set to start at 7:30 p.m. Find more information here.
