Wednesday’s episode of I So Lounging featured Amanda Shires, Jason Isbell & Seth Plemmons teaming up to cover Neil Young’s “Don’t Let It Bring You Down.” The daily livestream series also includes Kelly Garcia Plemmons manning the computer and Zeyk (the dog).
Last night, the three musicians kicked off the episode by performing a bit of a theme song for I So Lounging which included Isbell explaining the series is like “a podcast you can see” and similar to WTF without Marc Maron. Amanda then introduced a rendition of “Pale Fire,” a song she co-wrote with Jason for inclusion on her 2016 album, Piece Of Land. Next, Isbell shared a hot take on Star Wars.
The episode continued with a cover of Neil Young’s “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” featuring lead vocals handled by Jason and Amanda. Both musicians then answered a number of questions posed by viewers before Jason fronted his own “Alabama Pines.” More banter followed and then the episode ended with a blues jam in the key of D.
