The Free Nationals appear in the latest installment of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series. The session featured frequent collaborator Anderson .Paak as well as Chronixx and India Shawn.
The 2016 Tiny Desk Concert performed by Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals is the most popular in the history of the long-running series. Their return performance was recorded in early-March before COVID-19 stay-at-home orders were put in place.
The session began with Shawn leading “Beauty & Essex,” a song from the 2019 Free Nationals album that featured Daniel Ceaser and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Shawn then sang, “On Sight,” which also appeared on the record with guests JID, Kadhja Bonet and MIKNNA. Paak replicated his contribution to the album feature, “Gidget,” and Chronixx did the same on “Eternal Light.” Watch the set below:
