Police have praised the behaviour of Groovin The Moo attendees, despite a number of arrests on the festival’s first weekend for 2018.
Fairfax Media reports that police caught 40 people with drugs at the Maitland leg of the festival on Saturday, which was attended by around 21,000 people.
A 21-year-old man was also reportedly arrested and charged with assaulting police and security guards, while four people were treated for intoxication by NSW Ambulance.
Acting Inspector Kristin Marshall said the crowd was “generally well behaved”, but a number of people also attempted to enter the festival by jumping the fence.
With “deadly” substances being found during a pill testing trial at the Canberra leg of Groovin The Moo on Sunday, police said they did not enter the pill testing tent.
ACT Policing Acting Superintendent Rohan Smith has told 2CC Canberra that one man was arrested at the festival on drugs charges, with four males and one female being taken into custody for anti-social behaviour or intoxication.
In a statement to Music Feeds, SA Police say the crowd at Adelaide Showground on Friday “were generally well-behaved”, with “no incidents of note” taking place.
