Ben Folds Covers Jackson Browne & Elliott Smith For ‘Apartment Requests’ Livestream

117

Ben Folds conducted what appears to be his penultimate Apartment Requests livestream on Saturday. The singer-songwriter and pianist fit in covers by Jackson Browne and Elliott Smith as well as some Ben Folds Five classics.

After talking about recording his new album, Ben kicked things off with “How Many Years?” followed by Ben Folds Five’s “The Last Polka” and the “Rawhide Theme.” Next up, Folds delivered a cover of the Jackson Browne 1972 classic “Doctor My Eyes.” After “Free Coffee” from his 2008 album Way To Normal, Ben continued with “Ten Years Old” and “Don’t Change Your Plans” before giving a brief piano lesson.

The Ben Folds Five hit “Song For The Dumped” from the band’s landmark 1997 album Whatever And Ever Amen came next ahead of “Kylie From Connecticut” and “You To Thank” from Folds’ 2005 sophomore solo album Songs For Silverman. Ben then performed Elliott Smith’s “Say Yes” to close out the session.
