Jeff Tweedy & Sons Cover Neil Young, My Bloody Valentine & More On ‘Tweedy Show’

141

Jeff Tweedy, Sammy Tweedy and Spencer Tweedy covered Neil Young and My Bloody Valentine on the June 29 episode of The Tweedy Show. The Tweedy family tackled Neil’s “Try” and My Bloody Valentine’s “When You Sleep.”

But before that Jeff kicked things off with the “I’d Rather Be Alone,” a freshly titled song from Tweedy. After a bit of banter about the New Yorker, The Tweedys got into Neil Young’s “Try,” with Spencer on drums, in observance of Young’s album Homegrown, which was released in Canada the day before (July 1). The Wilco tune “Muzzle Of Bees” followed ahead of Sammy helping Jeff on Arthur Russell’s “Close My Eyes.”

The Tweedys got together for Link Wray’s “La De Da” followed by a stellar “I Know What It’s Like” with Spencer sticking around on drums. My Bloody Valentine’s “When You Sleep,” came next with Spencer back on drums and Sammy singing lead.
