Earlier this year alternative hip-hop duo Gorillaz launched their Song Machine collaboration initiative which featured new singles alongside artists including ScHoolboy Q, Skepta with the late Tony Allen, Fatoumata Diawara, Slowthai & Slaves, Tame Impala, and more. This week, Gorillaz announced they will release the above-mentioned singles and more on a forthcoming full-length album, Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez, due out on October 23rd.
The compilation will also include new collaborations alongside St. Vincent, Beck, Elton John, EarthGang, GoldLink, and The Cure‘s Robert Smith. Gorillaz shared their new single alongside Smith to go with the album’s announcement entitled, “Strange Timez”. The band also announced a “Song Machine Live” virtual event to stream live via LiveNow on December 12th-13th.
