Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Thomas Delmer “Artimus” Pyle comes to the Valley this Saturday, Aug. 20. He’ll be performing with his Artimus Pyle Band and their “ultimate tribute to Ronnie Van Zandt’s Lynyrd Skynyrd” as part of the Rock The Boot Music Fest, held at the Ludlow Fish and Game Club.
Trailer Trash, Lobsterz from Marz, and Livio Gravini and The Free Spirit Society will also lend their sonic skills to the annual fundraiser aimed at supporting local families affected by Muscular Dystrophy. Advanced tickets are $20 and available at rockthebootludlow.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $25. Children 12 and under are free. Doors open at 3 p.m.
Can’t wait that long for a multi-band jam? You don’t have to. On Aug. 19, Maximum Capacity in Chicopee will host its second annual Summer Rock Luau starting at 9 p.m.
For just $10, patrons can partake in a Fat Elvis dance off, limbo contest, and more amid music pumped out by local heavyweights Children of The Korn, Blackout, Fistful of Steel and Sanity is Chaos. All luau attendees must be 21+ and wear proper beach attire.
And for those who can’t even wait for the weekend to get the party started, Chris Regan and his Fear Nuttin’ Band have yet another option for you, provided that you’re willing to travel a little. In his defense, however, the affable axe-man isn’t asking fans to do anything he wouldn’t do, or hasn’t done, many times over in recent weeks.
“We are just coming off a two month tour with Tribal Seeds, sowing in festivals like Strangecreek, Ziontific and Manifestivus in between,” a road-weary Regan reports. “This Saturday, Aug. 20, we’ll be one of the headliners at the Irie Vibes Music Fest in South Carolina. Aug. 18, however, we’ll be sneaking in a regional show at the Outerspace Ballroom in Hamden, CT with our friends Chaser Eight and Someone You Can X-Ray.”
