185

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench is keeping busy these days. Not only did he contribute to both of Ryan Adams‘ first two albums of 2019, he’s also recording with Grace Potter and will make his Phil Lesh & Friends debut at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.

Benmont is aboard for all three Phil Lesh & Friends’ 79th Birthday Celebration shows at The Cap March 14 – 16. Phil will also be joined by guitarists John Scofield and Grahame Lesh, multi-instrumentalist Jackie Greene and drummer John Molo on March 14 and 15. A variation to the lineup occurs on March 16 as the Grateful Dead bassist will team with Grahame Lesh, John Molo, Benmont Tench, Jackie Greene, Luther Dickinson and Amy Helm. Luther and Amy will open the show with Luther Dickinson and Sisters of the Strawberry Moon. Tickets for all three shows are on sale now here. In 2013, JamBase picked Benmont as a “Phil Lesh Friend We’d Like To See.”

Furthermore, Grace Potter recently shared an image from a studio in Los Angeles that includes Benmont Tench as part of the band:
