Friends of the Brothers, featuring members of the Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, and Jaimoe bands as well as ABB biographer Alan Paul, returns to celebrate the music of the Allman Brothers Band with three special guest-laden shows this week. The collective will be joined by sax legend Ron Holloway, Gregg Allman guitarist and musical director Scott Sharrard, and guitar sensation Brandon “Taz” Niederauer.

“We are excited to bring more of the extended Allman Brothers family into our celebration of the music we all love so much,” says Paul, author of the definitive Allman Brothers Band biography One Way Out. “Special guests are a core part of the ABB legacy, as is every night being different than the one before or after.”

Thursday, January 10th, at the Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, PA, the group will be joined by Holloway, a longtime regular guest of the Allman Brothers as well as Gov’t Mule, Little Feat and others. Sharrard will open the show.

On Friday, January 11th, Friends of the Brothers will perform at Still Partners in Sea Cliff, Long Island. Finally, on Sunday, January 13th at 5 PM, the band will once again be joined by Holloway as well as teen guitar sensation Brandon “Taz Niederauer at The Warehouse L.I. in Amityville, NY.

Friends of the Brothers began as a one-off show in March 2017 as a tribute to Butch Trucks and has continued to perform regularly, based around a core of guitarists Junior Mack (Jaimoe’s Jassz Band), Andy Aledort (Dickey Betts and Great Southern) and Alan Paul.

Regular keyboardist Peter Levin (Gregg Allman) is currently on tour with the Allman Betts Band and will be replaced for these shows by Eric Finland (Eric Krasno, Jaimoe’s Jassz Band). Drummer Van Romaine (Steve Morse) will be joined in Ardmore by Eric Kalb (John Scofield, Eric Krasno) and in Long Island by Dave Diamond (Zen Tricksters) while Craig Privett (Half Step) holds down the bass.

“As we become a more regular touring band, we are incorporating more musicians and a wider array of material,” says Aledort. “We are all bound by our passion for this music and our dedication to playing it right.”
