Austin-based guitarist Gary Clark Jr. served as the musical guest on Thursday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Clark Jr. led his band through two songs from This Land, his forthcoming studio album.
Gary was joined by his longtime band of bassist Johnny Bradley, guitarist King Zapata and drummer Johnny Radelat for a performance of the politically-chared title track for the episode. Clark Jr. also recorded a take on This Land’s “Feed The Babies” as a web exclusive video. Colbert house band leader Jon Batiste sat-in with Clark Jr. on the Curtis Mayfield-esque tune as did members of Stay Human. Watch both songs below:
