A Bela Fleck: Friends & Family concert at the majestic Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado now will include special guest Jeff Coffin. The longtime Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and Dave Matthews Band saxophonist has taken the place of Sam Bush on the lineup for the May 30th event.
Bush recently underwent bowel resection surgery and his recovery will take longer than originally anticipated. Sam cancelled his next three weeks worth of performances but appears to be on the mend. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Jerry Douglas, Abigail Washburn and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra round out the lineup.
Jeff Coffin joined Béla Fleck & The Flecktones in 1997 and left the group in 2010 to devote his attention to the Dave Matthews Band. Coffin will perform with the Flecktones at Red Rocks, marking the first time both he and Howard Levy will play in the same Flecktones lineup. Tickets for the concert are on sale now via AXS.com.
