James Elkington Details New Album ‘Ever-Roving Eye’ & Shares Single

124

James Elkington announced a new album, Ever-Roaming Eye, arriving on April 3 via Paradise Of Bachelors. The UK-bred, Chicago-based singer-songwriter and guitarist also released the LP’s lead single, “Nowhere Time.”

Elkington is perhaps best known for his work with other artists including Michael Chapman and Joan Shelley. But in 2017 Elkington made a go of it with his solo debut Wintres Woma, of which Ever-Roaming Eye is the follow up. For the new record, Elkington enlisted the help of previous collaborators bassist Nick Marci and violinist Macie Stewart but also brought in fresh faces like cellist Lia Kohl, The Weather Station vocalist Tamara Lindeman and drummer Spencer Tweedy (son of Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy).

To preview the album, Elkington shared the single “Nowhere Time.” “A more cosmic acquaintance of mine once told me that when your life is going in the direction you want it to, it’s the universe’s way of telling you that you are in the place you’re meant to be,” Elkington said about the song in a statement. “Does that sound likely? Not at all, but the song asks the question anyway…”

“Nowhere Time” also arrived with an accompanying Tim Harris-directed video. Check it out below:
