Featured artists run the gamut from jam scene favorites such as Widespread Panic, The String Cheese Incident and Umphrey’s McGee to acclaimed rockers Pearl Jam, My Morning Jacket, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit and Wilco as well as legendary acts including Metallica, The Allman Brothers Band, Jimmy Buffett, The Rolling Stones and Miles Davis. Many of the shows added to the catalog in 2020 come from the musicians’ vaults. Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders: May 21, 1971

The latest installment of the Jerry Garcia live archival series, GarciaLive, was recorded on May 21, 1971 at Keystone Korner in San Francisco. Garcia was joined on that night by keyboardist Merl Saunders, saxophonist Martin Fierro and drummer Bill Vitt. The show was a rare one in which bassist John Kahn did not perform with Garcia/Saunders. Highlights include a cover of David Crosby’s “The Wall Song,” an instrumental arrangement of Stevie Wonder’s “I Was Made To Love Her” and a 16-minute freeform improvisation dubbed “Keystone Korner Jam.”


Jimmy Buffett: July 27, 1991

Jimmy Buffett earned a legion of devoted “Parrotheads” thanks to his prowess as a live performer. Eighteen official live audio recordings spanning 1991 – 2019 can be streamed by nugs.net subscribers. The oldest show cirrently in the catalog is a performance from July 27, 1991 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. Buffett treated Detroit-area fans to a 20-song concert loaded with such fan favorites as “Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attidues,” “Cheeseburger In Paradise” and “A Pirate Looks At Forty.” Jimmy ended the night with an extended version of the beloved “Margaritaville.”


Metallica: July 22, 1994

Over 650 Metallica shows and albums are available for streaming via nugs.net including many concert videos. One standout performance that can be heard and watched by nugs.net subscribers is the iconic metal act’s July 22, 1994 show. The concert took place at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, a stone’s throw from where the band was formed. Don’t miss the “Kill/Ride Medley” featuring portions of “Ride The Lightning,” “No Remorse,” “Four Horsemen,” “Phantom Lord” and “Fight Fire With Fire.” The show also includes impressive versions of “Seek & Destroy,” “Master Of Puppets,” “Sad But True” and “Enter Sandman.”


Dave Matthews Band: June 8, 1997

The nugs.net catalog is loaded with dozens of Dave Matthews Band live recordings. A number of Live Trax installments are available for streaming including Live Trax Vol. 47, which was recorded at Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford on June 8, 1997. The 16-song performance saw DMB joined by special guest Béla Fleck for lengthy versions of “Lie In Our Graves,” “Seek Up,” “Two Step” and “#41” as well as sizzling renditions of “Ants Marching” and “Tripping Billies.” Plus, future Dave Matthews Band member Jeff Coffin adds saxophone to the 14-minute “#41.”


The Allman Brothers Band: April 16, 2005

2005 was a fantastic year for The Allman Brothers Band. The lineup of Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Oteil Burbridge, Marc Quinones, Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny “Jaimoe” Johanson had five years together under their belts and gelled in a way that paid great dividends on stage. Fourteen live audio recordings of the ABB in 2005 were added to the nugs.net catalog this year, including their April 16 performance at the Wanee Festival. Bookended by “Mountain Jam,” the mammoth set also features standout versions of “Wasted Words,” “Egypt,” “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” and “Whipping Post.” The band was joined by saxophonist Ron Holloway on “Liz Reed.” Holloway returned to add to a “Southbound” that also featured Danny Louis on keys and Chris Fryer on drums.


Jeff Tweedy: February 13, 2006

At the start of 2006, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy embarked on one of the longest solo tours of his career up until that point. nugs.net recently added a crystal-clear recording of Tweedy’s February 13, 2006 performance at L.A.’s Henry Fonda Theater to its massive library. Here’s a chance for subscribers to hear stripped-down versions of such Wilco classics as “Spiders (Kidsmoke),” “I’m Always In Love,” “Theologians” and “A Shot In The Arm.” As always, Jeff provides witty banter throughout the evening.


My Morning Jacket: March 7, 2007

On March 6 and 7, 2007 Louisville rockers My Morning Jacket played a special set of shows at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia. Jim James & Co. presented the performances as prom-themed concerts and both band and many in the capacity crowd dressed the part of a ’50s “Under The Sea” high school dance. Official audio recordings of both concerts are now available for streaming on nugs.net. MMJ treated fans to killer versions of “One Big Holiday,” “Wordless Chorus” and “Dondante” as part of the main set on the 7th and ended the run with an encore that included covers of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight,” The Four Seasons’ “December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night),” Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” and “Crimson & Clover” by Tommy James & The Shondells.


Pearl Jam: April 29, 2016

Pearl Jam played their debut album, Ten, in its entirety for the first time on April 29, 2016 at The Spectrum in Philadelphia. The band followed the full performance of Ten by loading the setlist with classics, rarities and covers. Newly remixed audio of the complete concert was recently added to nugs.net’s massive collection of Pearl Jam live recordings, giving subscribers a chance to relive a historic night in the band’s history.


Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit: September 12, 2017

Seventeen Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit live audio recordings were added to the nugs.net catalog this year. One of the many standout performances now available is the band’s September 12, 2017 show at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre. Isbell, bassist Jimbo Hart, guitarist Sadler Vaden, drummer Chad Gamble and keyboardist Derry deBorja treated fans to a 19-song concert. The band stuck to originals with one key exception. Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit debuted a cover of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Melissa” in Seattle, a song they’ve only played twice since.


Tyler Childers: November 8, 2018

Outlaw country artist Tyler Childers hit the road hard in 2018 fresh off the success of his breakthrough album, 2017’s Purgatory. Childers and his band, The Food Stamps, were on fire by the time they hit Los Angeles for a performance at the famed Troubadour on November 8. Audio of the show is one of 12 Tyler Childers concerts from 2018 made available for nugs.net subscribers this year. The group goes heavy on material from Purgatory including mesmerizing versions of “Whitehouse Road,” “Born Again,” “Lady May” and “Honky Tonk Flame.” Childers also performed a handful of songs that would appear on 2019’s Country Squire and a cover of The Charlie Daniels Band’s “Trudy.”
