Radiohead Introduces Virtual Holiday Greeting Cards

89

Radiohead is allowing their fans to send virtual holiday cards to friends and loved ones heading into the heart of the holiday season.

The rock band has added the holiday card feature to the Public Library page of the Radiohead website. The customizable digital format allows fans to pick greetings on the outside of the virtual card, which range from “FA LA LA” to “LA-LA,” to just “LAA,” matched with inside messages like “Everything Is Rosy,” “In Lieu Of Emptiness,” “Sunlit Uplands Still Await,” to name a few.

A statement shared by the band to go with the new virtual holiday initiative reads, “This festive card is for you to make and send to acquaintances new and old. No element of data placed onto it will be stored by Radiohead.”

Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood also noted, “I hope you are all safe and well and not too scared, or too bored. I also hope that somehow we can be part of making music for you soon, and that the pleasure of making music, and hearing music, whether in a gig, concert hall, church, or at home with friends — is not forgotten in this desolate year. And as we climb out of 2020, washing our hands, I wish you all a happier new year — and send you and yours all our fondest regards.”
