In 2014, PhilRAD—Joe Russo’s Almost Dead with Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh subbing in for Dave Dreiwitz—came into being with a three-night run at the Cap. The run kicked off on December 29th, 2014 with a night full of Dead classics including “Dark Star”, “The Wheel”, “Terrapin Station”, and their take on the fan-favorite “Estimated Prophet” > “Eyes of the World” pairing.

FANS’ free archival stream of the 12/29/14 PhilRAD performance is powered by ROBE Backstage. Established in 2020, ROBE Backstage is a support system for lighting professionals facing financial challenges associated with serious injury, illness, or loss of employment due to unforeseen or mandated production shutdowns. Show your support by making a donation to ROBE Backstage.

In other RAD news, Joe Russo recently appeared on Eric Krasno‘s Plus One podcast to talk about the unlikely origins of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, playing with Furthur, and more. Stream the full Joe Russo episode of Eric Krasno Plus One here.
