This Friday and Saturday, Live For Live Music will present a series of four “The Funk Sessions” concerts at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver featuring vocalists Shira Elias and Lyle Divinsky, bassist MonoNeon, guitarists Brandon “Taz” Niederauer and Eddie Roberts, keyboardist Joey Porter, drummer Alvin Ford Jr., trumpeter Gabe Mervine and saxophonist Nick Gerlach. A livestream of The Funk Sessions show on Saturday, February 13 at 10:45 p.m. ET/7:45 p.m. PT is available via nugs.tv with proceeds going towards Backline.
Those who donate any amount to Backline through FunkSessions.com will receive streaming links to view Saturday’s performance. Backline helps provide access to mental health and wellness resources to music industry professionals and their families.
In-person attendance for the four-show run was limited in keeping compliant with protocols in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, tickets sold out quickly.
“The Funk Sessions” was started in 2019 and continued into 2020. This weekend’s engagement marks the first “The Funk Sessions” of 2021.
