The Connecticut jam quartet Eggy has released Eggy Selects: Fall Tour 2021, a new album of live tracks recorded during the band’s October and November performances.
On October 7th, Eggy hit the road with Spafford for a five-week tour across the Midwest and East Coast. Starting in Lawrence, KS, the two groups hit staple venues in the region like The Magic Stick in Detroit, MI (10/15), The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC (10/23), and Park West in Chicago, IL (11/6). The run of shows included an opening spot a Spafford’s Bob-themed Halloween at Bloomington, IN’s Castle Theatre, a joining of forces between Eggy’s Dani Battat (keys/vocals) and the headliners after Andrew “Red” Johnson tested positive for COVID-19, and plenty of live debuts as the Connecticut four-piece didn’t repeat one song during the tour.

That tour-ending stop in Chicago plays host to the first track on Eggy Selects: Fall Tour 2021, as the album begins with a set opening “Queen’s Gambit” from Park West on November 6th. Eggy includes a nearly-16-minute rendition of KISS‘ “Detroit Rock City” from The Magic Stick, original debuts of “Tom Corn Walker” from Milwaukee, WI’s Miramar Theatre (11/5); and fan-favorites like “Lost and Found” from Charlottesville, VA (10/26); “Hux” from Raleigh, NC (10/22); “Northern Lights” from Louisville, KY (10/16); and “BubaGum” from the quartet’s headlining show at The Hollow in Albany, NY (11/26).
Also on the album is the live debut of “Time Escaping”, the title track to Big Thief‘s latest album that dropped just two weeks prior to Eggy’s performance at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY (11/27) opening for Twiddle as part of the band’s annual Frendsgiving run. This latest offering represents Eggy at its best, locked in and churning out lengthy improv jams and debuts at every turn; A clear indication of the hard work and dedication the band has committed to during the past 18 months of uncertainty surrounding live events.
