Elton John has postponed two Dallas, TX performances on his 2022 Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour after contracting COVID-19, the musician announced on Tuesday.

In a statement posted to his Instagram story, John detailed the postponement of his shows tonight, January 25th, and tomorrow, January 26th, at Dallas’ American Airlines Center.

“Hi everyone, wanted to send a message to let you know that I have contracted COVID and so have had to reschedule my shows in Dallas,” he wrote. “If you have tickets, you’ll be contacted with the new dates really soon. It’s always a massive disappointment to move shows and I’m so sorry to anyone who’s been inconvenienced by this but I want to keep myself and my team safe.”

Elton reassured fans that his “symptoms are mild” and that he is “fully expecting to be able to make the Arkansas shows this weekend” at North Little Rock’s Simmons Bank Arena on January 29th.

John just recently kicked off this leg of his 2022 Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour on January 19th at New Orleans, LA’s Smoothie King Center. Billed as his last-ever tour dates, the musical legend was ecstatic to be back on stage after a nearly two-year layoff. Following this weekend’s shows in Arkansas, Elton John will head off to Oklahoma (1/30), Missouri (2/1), Illinois (2/4), and beyond.
