Funk favorites The Motet continued a Texas run with fellow Coloradans Eminence Ensemble on Saturday night at Deep Ellum Art Co in Dallas.

After jumping in with Eminence Ensemble for a song, The Motet drummer/founder Dave Watts led his airtight unit—filled out by Ryan Jalbert (guitar), Garrett Sayers (bass), Joey Porter (keys), and Drew Sayers (saxophone)—through an energetic headlining set featuring special guest singer/guitarist Colin Miller.

The Motet’s Keep On Don’t Stoppin’ Tour continues in March with a run of Colorado mountain shows. The band’s spring schedule also features a variety of supporting acts and co-bills including performances with Mike DillonEggy, and Pigeons Playin Ping Pong.

On May 27th, The Motet and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will hit Morrison, CO’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre along with Cory Henry. Special guests on The Motet’s Red Rocks set will include percussionist Billy Martin (Medeski, Martin and Wood), former Turkuaz members Shira Elias and Sammi Garett on vocals, and The Horn Section on brass.
