Not even the sky’s the limit for customers of Bentley’s storied bespoke Mulliner division, which just created a one-of-one “Space Edition” of Bentayga Speed SUV.
Commissioned through Bentley Orlando, the exterior is dressed in a dark metallic gray with subtle green undertones dubbed Cypress—a shade that debuted on Bentley’s first-generation Continental GT in 2003.
However, a Blackline Specification outlines the Flying B logo, radiator vanes, matrix grilles, window surrounds, door handles and other exterior brightware in gloss black. An Orange Flame accent inspired by comet dust trails highlights the lowest line on the body.
But the interior is where the bulk of the customization occurred. Passengers first see illuminated treadplates depicting planets orbiting a solar system, then orange bezels surrounding moon rock-like “Galaxy Stone’ fascia set in the dash and door waistrails.
The main trim in Beluga and Porpoise creates a warm atmosphere meant to mimic the night sky. Contrasting orange highlights the steering wheel center, gear shifter, and micro piping around the seat edges and floor mats, continuing the exterior’s accent theme.
Powering the starry-eyed 4×4 is a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine that, with 635 hp, once made the Bentayga Speed the world’s fastest SUV before the new Aston Martin DBX 707 bumped the top speed record up from 190 to 193 mph.
Still, the Bentayga Space Edition rockets to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and slows as quick as possible carbon ceramic brakes—the largest and most powerful offered by the marque.
No word on price, but the custom bits definitely blasted the $250,000 base price past any earthly realm.
