Ty Segall has shared “Saturday Pt. 2”, the sophomore single from his upcoming solo album, Hello, Hi. Out on July 22nd via Drag City, the new ten-track offering will mark the multi-instrumentalist’s 15th overall, arriving barely a year after his last album, Harmonizer.
“Saturday Pt. 2” furthers the stripped-down aesthetic previewed on the title track to Hello, Hi released last month. Segall’s voice alongside an isolated guitar croons the song from a lonely bedroom window—fitting, as Ty recorded much of the album at home—eventually greeted by the rest of his Freedom Band compatriots. The song creeps along until saxophonist Mikal Cronin gets a hold of it, soaring the single into highly combustible jazz-rock territory.
