Newly-certified rock star Dolly Parton stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday where she cleared up some urban legends about herself, including the fact that she has hidden a secret song in her Dollywood theme park that won’t come out until 2045.
Sitting with host Jimmy Fallon, who also appears in Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas which premieres December 1st at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, Parton was tasked with a number of true or false questions. With a star as larger-than-life as Dolly, it’s easy for the truth to get mixed up with a good story. When it comes to Parton, however, it appears that the truth is even greater than any fantasy.
With Christmas around the corner, Dolly confirmed that she does in fact put up a Christmas tree in every room in her house and dresses as Santa to give out gifts to her family. The country music legend even goes so far as to pimp out her limousine like a sleigh to pick up her nieces and nephews (and grandnieces and grandnephews) to take back to her house which sports an elevator decorated like a chimney.

Dolly also confirmed that she once entered a Dolly Parton look-alike contest and lost, and the fact that she goes to sleep in her makeup just in case she has to evacuate her house in the middle of the night.
“So you always look like a million bucks,” Fallon asserted. “Well, I don’t know about that but that’s how much it’s cost me to look like this,” Parton quipped.
Lastly, Dolly Parton affirmed that there is a song locked away in her Tennessee theme park that will not see the light of day until 2045.
“That’s the truth,” she confirmed to a stunned Fallon. “One year they asked me if I would write a song that nobody would ever hear—I’ll be dead and gone, well I might not be ’cause I’ll be 99. You know me, I might still be hopping around.”
Considering the looming effects of climate change, political division, and crumbling economies, there’s no telling what the world of tomorrow will look like. Luckily, Parton had the foresight to include instructions with the CD of the song explaining to future civilizations how to play a CD.
“But I have regretted that, because it was a really good song,” Parton lamented. “I keep wanting them to let me dig it up and put something else in it that’s not as good.”
