Extra Bang For Your Buck: Trombone Shorty Plots Tour With Ziggy Marley, Mavis Staples & Robert Randolph

Trombone Shorty is all about package tours, giving fans plenty of music for their hard-earned dollars and his Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue ensemble ample opportunities for collaboration. This summer, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will hit the road with Ziggy Marley, Mavis Staples and Robert Randolph for the bulk of a run that also includes Yola and Devon Gilfillian each swapping in for Ziggy on select dates.

The excursion gets underway in North Carolina with a lineup of Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Mavis Staples, Robert Randolph and Yola performing in Charlotte on June 2 and Greensboro on June 3. Shorty and his band then follow an appearance at the Riverbend Festival on June 4 by teaming with Staples, Randolph and Gilfillian in Boston on June 10 and Gilford, New Hampshire on June 11.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Ziggy Marley, Mavis Staples and Robert Randolph share the bill for the first time in Roanoke, Virginia on June 13 ahead of two nights in New York City on June 15 and 16. Randolph sits out for a two-night stand at Wolf Trap on June 17 and 18 before Shorty, Staples, Randolph and Yola hit Bridgeport, Connecticut on June 20. The main lineup is back together starting in Wilmington, North Carolina on June 22, continuing in Asheville, North Carolina on June 25 and throughout the summer.

July dates for Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Ziggy Marley, Mavis Staples and Robert Randolph include stops in Oshkosh, Wisconsin (July 20), Kansas City (July 22), Vail (July 24), Spokane, Washington (July 26), Troutdale, Oregon (July 28) and Bend, Oregon (July 30). It’s then off to California for concerts in Santa Barbara (August 4) and Los Angeles (August 5). The package tour concludes with performances in Lincoln, Nebraska (August 11), Salina, Kansas (August 12) and Irving, Texas (August 13). Randolph is out for the show in Salina.
