Twiddle will issue its top-shelf jams on a new live album fittingly dubbed The A-List: A Live Compilation of Music from April 2022-March 2023. Out September 8th, the expansive live compilation album marks the Vermont quartet’s first official live album since 2019’s Unplugged in Burlington.
The comprehensive 24-track digital release blends an idyllic mix of Twiddle’s time-tested staples like “Nicodemus Portulay”, “Hattie’s Jam”, “Apples”, “When It Rains It Pours” and others alongside cuts from the band’s latest LP, Every Last Leaf. Produced by drummer Adrian Tramontano, the live document captures over four-and-a-half hours of music from 14 different concerts.
With the announcement, Twiddle shared a live take on “Jamflowman” recorded at The Underground in Charlotte, NC on October 26th, 2022. The extended 14-minute telling highlights the synchronicity that Mihali Savoulidis (vocals, guitar), Ryan Dempsey (keys, organ, synth), and Zdenek Gubb (bass) have cultivated after nearly two decades together, with Adrian joining on an interim basis filling in for Brook Jordan.
“The ‘Jamflowman’ from Charlotte in October of last year was one of those moments of musical synchronicity that we aim for in our improv,” Mihali said. “We hope you dig this as the first cut from the A-List, and can’t wait for you all to hear the full thing in a few weeks!”
In addition to the digital offering landing on streaming services, Twiddle is also offering a vinyl edition of the album. The truncated version hosts 11 of The A-List‘s A-list in a gatefold double album featuring photos from the band’s longtime photographer Dave Decrescente. Pre-orders for the vinyl are now open on the band’s website.
After 18 years of consistent and comprehensive touring, Twiddle announced an indefinite hiatus set to begin next year. The band has a string of tour dates between now and then, culminating with a three-night blowout at The Capitol Theatre for the group’s annual Frendsgiving tradition.
