Rodrigo y Gabriela, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Margo Price and Foo Fighters are among the acts set to appear on episodes of renowned live music televsion program Austin City Limits later this year. The initial Season 49 lineup and schedule has been revealed with each installment premiering on PBS (check local listings) before they can be streamed online via pbs.org/austincitylimits immediately after the initial broadcast.
Season 49 gets underway with virtuosic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela featuring the Austin Symphony Orchestra on October 7 at 8 p.m. ET. Then, Jenny Lewis returns to the ACL stage for the first time in nearly a decade when she shares the hour with program newcomers Muna on October 14. The episode on October 21 is split between hip-hop star Lil Yachty and violinist/singer-songwriter Sudan Archives.
Margo Price makes her second Austin City Limits appearance on October 28 as part of an episode that also features Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway. Next up is world music sensation Jorge Drexler on November 4 followed by Isbell and the 400 Unit on November 11 before Foo Fighters close out the show’s 2023 offerings on November 18. Both Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and Foo Fighters have previously made two headlining appearances on Austin City Limits.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that this is the most diverse mix of music and talent ACL has ever presented in a new season – and it’s only the beginning!” exclaimed ACL executive producer Terry Lickona in a statement. “We strive to live up to the axiom that ‘anything goes’ on ACL as long as it’s authentic, original or groundbreaking – or all three! There’s so much great music being made today from all genres and all corners of the world, and we try to showcase it all.” Seven additional episodes will complete Season 49 starting in January 2024 with the artists to be announced at a later date.
