Phish has announced its return to Madison Square Garden for a four-night New Year’s Eve run to round out a busy 2023 and welcome the start of 2024.

A ticket request period is now underway here and will continue through Monday, September 25th at 12:00 p.m. ET. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning on Friday, September 29th at 12:00 ET. A limited number of travel packages (hotel and tickets) will go on sale Wednesday, September 27th at 12:00 p.m. ET. For complete Phish New Year’s Run 2023 ticketing details, head here.

This has been a big year for the foundational jam band at its de facto home court in Manhattan. After ringing in the start of 2023 with a 40th anniversary-oriented blowout at Madison Square Garden on 12/31/22—complete with a time-traveling tour of New Years past—Phish returned to “The World’s Most Famous Arena” for a seven-show run in late July and early August.

While the rumor mill never quite stopped churning about Phish making its way to Las Vegas to play the soon-to-be-opened Sphere for New Year’s, that ball has clearly been punted into the future as the band prepares to flip the calendar in New York City for the fifteenth time.

The announcement of the 2023 MSG Phish New Year’s run follows the band’s recent four-night, tour-closing run at Colorado’s Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and a two-night run at SPAC that raised $3.5 million for flood recovery efforts in Vermont and Upstate New York and featured a surprise sit-in by guitarist Derek Trucks. Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio recently revealed that he will be back at the Garden later this month when he joins Tedeschi Trucks Band on September 29th for a special guest appearance during the Derek Trucks and Susan Tedecschi-led band’s Garden Parties.

Anastasio, drummer Jon Fishman, keyboardist Page McConnell, and bassist Mike Gordon also recently issued a “save the date” for the next Phish festival, set to take place in Dover, DE from August 15th–18th, 2024. The band, which has intermittently hosted curated “festivals” since 1996’s The Clifford Ball, held its last successful festival in 2015 in Watkins Glen, NY under the name Magnaball. A planned 2018 festival in Watkins Glen, Curveball, was canceled at the last minute due to weather-related issues with the local water supply.
