Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit released a live video of “Cover Me Up.” The footage is from Isbell and company’s December 14, 2022 concert at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The second of “Two Very Special Evenings” at the Bijou saw Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit performing Isbell’s 2013 solo album, Southeastern, which is set for a 10th anniversary reissue tomorrow (Friday, September 29). The full ‘Southeastern – Live at the Bijou Theatre’ video is also set to premiere on YouTube tomorrow at 5 p.m. PT/ 7 p.m. CT/ 8 p.m. ET.
“Cover Me Up” opens Southeastern and the band’s 2022 performance of the song in Knoxville marked the first time “Cover Me Up” opened a show since 2014, as per SetlistFM stats. Isbell starts the song solo on acoustic guitar before the band joins him for a stirring rendition of the acclaimed singer-songwriter’s standout song.
