Watch Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Cover Foo Fighters For Northlands Festival’s ‘Maple Barn Sessions’ Series

Organizers of the Northlands Music & Arts Festival launched The Maple Barn Sessions, a new series of pro-shot videos filmed at the festival’s on-site maple shack featuring artists who played the event back in June. Out now are the first four The Maple Barn Sessions videos including Pigeons Playing Ping Pong‘s disco-tinged cover of Foo Fighters‘ “Times Like These.”

The Northlands Music & Arts Festival 2023 took place at the Nortlands Fairgrounds in Swanzey, New Hampshire on June 16 and 17. Mike Gordon, The String Cheese Incident, Twiddle, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Orebolo, Too Many Zooz and Super Sonic Shorties were among the acts who performed at the second annual installment of the event.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Dogs In A Pile, Kitchen Dwellers, The Nth Power featuring Jennifer Hartswick, Yam Yam, and Doom Flamingo are the Northlands 2023 artists that made their way to the on-site maple shack to perform three-song sets captured for The Maple Barn Sessions. The shack was outfitted as a recording studio over the course of the festival weekend, where sessions were filmed by multiple cameras in 4K with professionally mixed audio.

Originally released by Foo Fighters on their 2002 album One By One, PPPP debuted “Times Like These” during their The Who Fighters-themed 2022 Halloween run. Frontman Greg Ormont did a fine job emulating Dave Grohl‘s vocals with lead guitarist Jeremy Schon shredding a dynamic solo to extend the song. Drummer Alex Petropulos laid down a four-on-the-floor beat as bassist Ben Carrey grooved hard.
