Rising jam acts Eggy and Dogs in a Pile will join forces this fall for a co-headlining two-night run at Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre. The shows on November 29th and 30th will carry on the Frendsgiving holiday tradition set forth by Twiddle, who went on indefinite hiatus last year.

Each night, Eggy and Dogs in a Pile will switch closing duties, with each band performing 90-minute sets on Friday and Saturday. The shows will culminate with a collaboration as both bands come together to close each of the two shows with a communal song.

“This two-night run is the culmination of what both bands have been working towards for a long time,” Dogs in a Pile keyboardist Jeremy Kaplan said. “We are lucky to share it with each other and even luckier to share it with the folks that frequent a first-class venue like The Capitol Theatre.”

Both bands have made multiple previous appearances at the Port Chester rock n’ roll palace. Eggy first played The Capitol Theatre on November 27th, 2021, supporting Twiddle’s Frendsgiving event. The New Haven, CT-based quartet later delivered opening sets for The Disco Biscuits and Umphrey’s McGee at the venue. Dogs in a Pile made their debut at The Cap on June 11th, 2022 supporting Pink Talking Fish and returned in November to open for Twiddle at the 2022 Frendsgiving run—making Eggy and Dogs’ status as the torchbearers for the charitable Thanksgiving concerts all the more fitting.

“It’s not often that a place lives up to its hype, even more rare to exceed expectations,” Eggy drummer Alex Bailey said. “The Cap is one of those special places that words never quite do justice. We’ve had the opportunity to experience the magic as fans and have now gotten to share the stage in support of Twiddle, The Disco Biscuits, and Umphrey’s McGee. To be able to deliver a show as a headlining band (alongside our good friends, Dogs In A Pile, no less!) is an absolute dream come true. We can’t wait to celebrate this weekend with everyone.”

This run comes amid breakout years for both enterprising young bands. Already this year, Eggy has made its debuts at Bonnaroo and Red Rocks Amphitheatre (supporting Blues Traveler) and is preparing to release its sophomore album, Waiting Game, on Friday, September 6th. Dogs in a Pile are coming off the collaborative Pigeons Frasco Dogs tour alongside road warriors Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Andy Frasco & The U.N. The New Jersey natives are currently recording a new studio album set for release next year.

A pre-sale for tickets to the Eggy and Dogs in a Pile run at The Capitol Theatre is now open through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. ET via Eggy or DIAP‘s website.
