The Grateful Dead have announced their Shakedown Stream archive concert webcast series will return this later this month on Friday, October 30th. The series which revisited a mix of the Dead’s archive performances every Friday throughout the spring and early summer months took a hiatus in August but will continue to air on an occasional basis.

This month’s webcast will revisit the band’s Dead Ahead acoustic/electric performances at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on October 30th & October 31st, 1980. The Halloween night performance was even simulcasted in movie theaters across the country, and a collection of recordings from the Radio City and Warfield Theater (San Francisco) shows throughout October 1980 were later released as two separate 1981 live albums, Reckoning and Dead Set.

The October 30th Shakedown Stream webcast will open with its usual pre-show hosts David Lemieux and Gary Lambert, who will be joined by politician/comedian/Deadhead Al Franken, who hosted the band’s 1980 Halloween event.
